Immortals Fenyx Rising is a underappreciated gem of a game. When it launch for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S generation, it didn’t receive very much attention at the start, but it finally turned out to be a quiet hit on the Xbox Game Pass.
But sad news, it looks like we may not be getting a sequel. Well not anytime soon anyway. Following the report from VGC, a sequel was in the works but at Ubisoft Quebec
it was cancelled earlier this month.
VGC’s sources said that “perceived challenges around establishing the IP” were the cause of the cancellation. The site also noted that although the game had a “modest audience, a lot of sales came via discounting.
If you enjoyed the game and was hoping for a sequel, then the news is definitely disappointing to hear. Even when you consider that the Pure Xbox members voted Immortals Fenyx Rising as the best Xbox Game Pass addition of August 2022 –
